A country of traditions

The Republic of Mali is the largest country in West Africa. Many of its mythical place names are the subject of childhood dreams, such as Tombouctou (Timbuktu), Gao, Mopti.
To the north is the Sahara desert with its sand dunes spreading as far as the eye can see, but the south is nourished by two of Africa’s largest rivers, the Niger and the Sénégal.
Diversity is everywhere, both in scenery and cultures. The ethnic groups all stem from very ancient traditions which are still upheld.
The official language of Mali is French but numerous dialects are used throughout the country.
There are a variety of religions, with Islam being the most predominant, all of which are founded on animistic beliefs that are still strongly practised.

Poorness and richness at the same time...

Today, Mali is one of the poorest countries in the world, but Mali also has a very long and illustrious history.
It is a country that is a must to explore for two reasons. The first is that you will have an unforgettable experience and the second is that tourism aids development.
10% of the price you pay on this site goes to the association "Tourisme sans frontières"in order to assist its development.
Bon voyage and happy exploring!

We recommend:

The best season to visit Mali is October to the end of February.
From March to June it is very hot and dry, particularly in the desert region of the north.
From June to September it is the rainy season, especially in the south.
